Make the call history made.
Shadows over Geneva is an immersive, film-noir decision-making revision game that puts students at the table of the statesmen who shaped Europe between 1919 and 1939. Each crisis is a real historical turning point. Students choose what they think was decided, then see what actually happened and exactly why the other options were not chosen.

Written for Cambridge IGCSE History (international relations 1919–39) and Cambridge AS & A Level History (the League of Nations and international relations in the 1920s and 1930s). Ideal for independent revision, homework, starters, plenaries and whole-class review.

Two course levels

  • IGCSE: 81 decisions across the six desks. Three options per crisis, three adviser hints per game and an exam tip after every decision.
  • AS & A Level: 106 decisions, with extra crises (Geneva Protocol, Mosul, Leticia, Rapallo, Lausanne and more), four options with harder distractors, no hints, and Historian’s Desk notes on the historiography.

Six desks to play from

  • Paris 1919: the Big Three and the peace treaties. Was it fair?
  • The League Council: disputes, aggressors and sanctions.
  • Germany: Bauer, Cuno, Stresemann, Brüning, Papen and Hitler.
  • Italy: the “mutilated victory”, Mussolini, Abyssinia and the Axis.
  • Britain: Lloyd George, Baldwin, MacDonald and Chamberlain, and appeasement.
  • France: security, reparations, the Ruhr, Locarno and the road to 1939.
