The purpose of this collection of Silent E PowerPoint flashcards is to assist students in distinguishing between long and short vowel sounds.
A lot of practice is necessary because many students, particularly those with processing difficulties, find it difficult to switch between them fast.
Use them as you please, and you can even print the slides to make A4 physical flashcards to match
Pupils should say the sounds as instructed on each slide, letter sounds followed by picture cue. Do not underestimate the purpose if the picture cue to help the child accurately sort these sounds into the long term memory.
