Use them for assessment, re-enforcement activities; blow them up for whole class/group teaching or send them home for extra practice once taught in class. Copy, reduce, enlarge as much as you like. Following on from COUNT (0-5) and COUNT (6-10), this set of 25 worksheets gently introduces the child to addition and subtration. This is done pictorially to begin with, introducing the signs and then working up to adding and subtrating without help. Once addition and subtration is understood, further exercises help the child with those difficult concepts such as ‘how many more’ and ‘find the difference’ that so many struggle with. The book closes with practice ordering numbers and number patterns (odd and even), finishing with an introduction to doubles. These sheets can either be printed out as a workbook for each child, or used selectively as appropriate to a child’s needs.

A4 size. Two handy reference charts to go with the Letters and Sounds Phonic teaching programme in the UK. Print double sided and have phase 3 digraphs/trigraphs on one side and Phase 5 on the back. I have carefully chosen words that the child should be able to decode - rather than words like ‘treasure’ which introduce ‘ea’ representing the sound ‘e’ and ‘s’ representing the sound ‘sh’. Silent letters are underlined (mouse). Why not send a laminated one home with each child for handy reference there too? Meal times can become learning times! Or put one on each table during lessons.
