When I was teaching children who needed a slower pace, I found very few resources that suited them, so I made my own. I called it Reading Made Simple. The reading scheme doesn’t teach one sound and then move on. Each sound builds on the vocabulary of the one before, so children keep meeting words they can already read. This gives beginner readers real confidence. Although my phonics resources can be used with learners of any ability, they especially suit the child who learns more slowly.
