This is a comprehensive learning pack about the Sino-Soviet Split. This resource is aimed at learners around the age of 16-18 years old who are studying IBDP Cold War History. It can also be adapted to meet GCSE or A-Level curriculum requirements, or for any general history class about relations between the Soviet Union or China.

This is a comprehensive learning pack to review learning about the Sino-Soviet split around the period from 1950 to 1960 to address the inquiry question: why did the Soviets withdraw their advisors from China in July 1960? It has been designed to be student-centered.

The resource has several activities for maximum adaptability without extensive editing. The first four pages cover the content with an interactive matching activity. Pages five and six include the answers to the activity. Pages seven and eight have differentiated hexagon arrangement activities that connect to the content. Page nine has a mind map, and page ten a Venn Diagram. The last three pages include comprehensive notes for the teacher.

Each of the activities works as a stand alone activity, but I recommend spending forty five minutes on the content, and a second forty five minutes on the hexagon activity, and selecting either the mind map or Venn diagram for homework.

The worksheet is available in an editable .docx format and a locked .pdf format.
