Students will watch 2 different videos. One from a famous writer, another from a past President. Students must consider the impact of personal elements within these speeches. Then, students will read a speech, aim to identify literary techniques, with a focus on personal elements. One of the slides also features a language focus to improve written analysis skills. Students should, by the end of the lesson, be able to evaluate the effectiveness of personal elements/anecdotes within speech writing.
This lesson is completed differentiated. It's also ideal for use during inspections.
