This powerpoint presentation introduces the children to the idea of ‘Spellings Within Spellings’.
Based on a popular and very old game, Spellings Within Spellings asks the children to concentrate intently on words from the Year 5/6 Word List. For the teacher the purpose is the child learning the spellings, so the child must constantly be studying and investigating each word to play the game successfully.
The presentation also introduces your class to Hetti from Planet SPaG who talks about her love of words. You will discover that Hetti was able to digest and learn the whole list in just 7 seconds!
Included in the package is a copy of the Year 5/6 Word List and a series of differentiated photocopiable grids for the children to use.
