Two worksheets which lead students through the steps in solving simple equations. I made this because I had students who were struggling to see how they could set out the steps in their working.
I tend to use the 'what is the something?&' approach to equations (e.g. &';42 + 3y = 54' can be thought of as 42 + something = 54; what is the something? The something (the 3y) must be 12; so y must be 4.)
Something went wrong, please try again later.
excellent scaffold... thanks
A good resource for concentrating the pupil towards solving the equations.
A useful tool for students who struggle to follow the steps in solving an equation. Though for the equations involving brackets, it is a little restrictive as they must solve it in this particular way, but other than that it would be a really handy resource to have.
