Story planning using a Ten Point Plan

Plan your story to see if it works! Before investing time in writing a story only to find that it dries up half way, see if it works. Use this A4 ten point plan to identify which characters will be featured, where they will be and what their story journey is about. Then work out what happens. How do they solve their problems? Who helps them? What activity takes place to move them from the beginning of the story to its end. Then make sure the ending is appropriate and that loose ends are tied up. Planning pays off! The resource can be used multiple times and for work of differing lengths. it’s strength is helping writers to make sure they have a fully rounded story before they begin work. If the don’t they can try to remedy their idea or choose another.
