Complete “Ready to go” lesson with no adapting necessary!
New for AAQ Pearson Applied Science BTEC from Sept 2025 Specification
Also would be a good challenging lesson for higher ability GCSE students!
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
This lesson covers:
•What information we can obtain from a velocity-time graph linked to the SI units followed into the 4 SUVAT equations and their rules
•Examples on how each equations is used and a harder example on how to rearrange and use more than one equation including distance = speed x time to find total distance
•What are accelerometers followed by a table for students to complete on different items that use accelerometers. This could be completed using internet research or info hunt sheets but I honestly think students could complete it with their own knowledge of these objects and acceleration (perhaps work through the first example of fitbits as a class)
•There are 2 larger tasks to end the lesson. Design a product that utilises accelerometers and a F1 review task that requires students to use knowledge they have gained from the previous 3 lessons
PRINTING REQUIREMENTS : 1 double-sided copy of the SUVAT questions per student or pair. These questions can be reused if students don’t write on the hand outs

•Clear levelled learning objectives and outcomes
•Clear and modern layout utilising GIFS and Youtube
• Variety of tasks and plenaries with self assessment to assess progress
