Integrating pupils with Down's syndrome into mainstream classes. At Plashet School in east London, every effort is made to include Amina, a 14-year-old pupil with Down's syndrome, into appropriate mainstream classes.

Find out how Amina is able to be included in a variety of typical school classes, with the school also responding to her individual needs with targeted one-to-one sessions.

This programme features a practical science lesson, focussed maths and reading support, plus a 'lifeskills' lesson that prepares the Year 10 pupils for work experience attachments.

I work with young children with Down's Syndrome- so glad to see that use of visuals, concrete materials, signing and differentiating ways of recording can continue at secondary level.

An inspiring clip about one secondary school which achieves above average results, the clip looks at how pupils with down's syndrome are included in mainstream classes and the benefits of this.
