Teaching Philosophy

There is a new excitement about today’s learners. With advanced technology and access to sustainable resources, today’s students behave more independently. They are able to enhance personal growth by practise of critical thinking, which roads to more creativity which has changed the education institution as ‘a’ system.

I believe most teachers today have modified their teaching philosophies, as I and many others learn to adapt to life after a pandemic. I believe the whole child effect is still is the key to providing an education to students across the world. Students still need to be challenged and also achieve at high levels while staying motivated and guided to build upon other skills that will provide a healthy lifestyle outside of the classroom. As a teacher today, I have learned to be more patient with students that lack motivation. Most students today are struggling with being present and simply being around others. I like to incorporate some time in the day for mindfulness. Students should be able to become aware of their surroundings, their thoughts and ability to regain momentum so they can continue to learn throughout the day. I believe this is a practise that should be founded in the early years to create and habit into life. Lastly, all students should always feel safe and have access to collaborative learning space inside and outside the classroom all while keeping their desire to learn!

“Study without desire spoils the memory, and it retains nothing that it takes in.”
Leonardo da Vinci
