A complete lesson bundle for Tectonic hazards, written to the AQA GCSE Geography (8035) specification, with SEN-friendly design built in from the first slide.

WHAT IT COVERS: Plate tectonics theory and the three types of plate margin; primary and secondary effects and immediate and long-term responses; a comparison of two named tectonic hazard events from areas of contrasting wealth; and how monitoring, prediction, protection and planning reduce risk. Named examples built in: the 2011 Christchurch earthquake (New Zealand) and the 2015 Gorkha earthquake (Nepal).

UNTIERED: Geography is a single untiered qualification, so there is one set of questions for every student. Extended questions are marked with levels of response, not point by point.

WHAT’S INSIDE (8 files, all fully editable): PowerPoint slides (22 slides) that are dual-coded and chunked, with worked examples before practice. A worksheet with its full mark scheme. A starter and exit ticket with an answer key. A homework sheet with answers. An end-of-topic assessment (45 marks) with its own mark scheme. Retrieval-practice quizzes: three short quizzes, spaced across the topic, each mixing questions from earlier topics with this one, with answers.

Every question was written for this bundle. Nothing is reproduced from past papers, and the case-study content is written in original wording.

WHO MADE THIS: Speca, built by a serving UK secondary teacher. This bundle is one of a growing set in my Tes shop, which already has 19 AQA GCSE Maths topics.

IF YOU USE IT: an honest review helps other teachers work out whether this is worth their time, and it is the main way anything gets found on Tes. Good or bad, I read every one and I fix what gets flagged.

Speca is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by AQA. All content is originally authored and aligned to the publicly published AQA GCSE Geography (8035) specification.
