- Work songs & Spirituals
- The key features of the blues
- How to play the walking bass
- How to play a 12 bar blues chord pattern
- Improvising using the blues scale (including a video enabling the teacher to demonstrate question and answer phrasing
- Performing typical blues melodies
- The typical structure of a blues piece
- Integrated opportunities to use music ICT to produce/sequence the students' blues pieces
- Homework for each lesson

This download includes a detailed SOW along with PowerPoints for each lesson with embedded audio and video. A topic booklet is also provided which can be given to each student. This includes all sheet music, questions, worksheets and tasks required, including self and peer-assessment tools.
