The Circus of Nibbleswick: Year 5 Scheme of Work

A fully planned, resourced and ready to teach scheme of work for The Circus of Nibblewick, aimed primarily at Year 5 (but can be adapted to suit Year 4 and 6). Included is a unit overview, weekly lessons plans, a PowerPoint to accompany each lesson as well as all resources needed (differentiated ones included). The unit focuses on the fictional town of Nibbleswick and their reaction to a circus coming to town. Lessons range from the history of the circus, circus acts and the controversy it causes to exploring argument writing features and writing a letter and creating advertising materials using presentational devices… All lessons cover reading, writing and spoken language skills and also includes a writing assessment.
