This resource is aimed at KS3 students (in particular Years 7 and 8). The PowerPoint contains three lessons exploring the short story, The Comet by W.E.B Dubois. There is background information on the author and references to Black History Month. Lessons exploring language techniques and structure (tension graph). I have included the extract along with crossword resource, with answers. All the skills in these lessons directly relate to GCSE English Language AQA Paper 1 Creative Reading but can be used for other boards.
