The Complex Sentence Challenge: Timed is a Smartboard presentation aimed at encouraging children to attempt opening sentences by using a conjunction / connective.
Examples are given and then follows a series of 19 slides where the children are asked to copy down the original sentence and then rewrite it as a complex sentence using the conjunction as the sentence opener. Each slide contains the appropriate answer and has a timer set for three minutes.
