This is an imaginative writing response that is just under 1000 words long.

This could be used as a sample for students studying The Craft of Writing in Year 12.

It particularly demonstrates influences from the prescribed text ‘Love and Honor and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice’ by Nam Le as it deals with a fractured relationship between parent and child, whilst also attempting to incorporate similar techniques to Le such as flashback and vivid sensory description.

It could also be used as a sample for The Craft of Writing in general, or the Reading to Write Module in Year 11.
