The Dragon Snatcher Whole unit planning

This unit, made up over 10 sessions with additonal needed for the final story write is based on The Dragon Snatcher by M.P. Robertson-an incredible book with beautiful illustrations.

One night while reading in bed, George hears a familiar noise outside. His dragon has come for his help, but this time they face a daunting foe—an ice wizard who is stealing dragon eggs and keeping them locked up in his frozen castle. Luckily George knows how to outwit even a powerful wizard, although things don’t turn out quite the way he expects.

This unit is perfect for Year 2-3 and could be extended for children in Year 4. With carefully crafted PowerPoints, activities and visuals, this is an absolute hit and everything you need to deliver a fun and engaging English unit! Leading the class through different pages over the sessions, the unit focuses on drawing out great language and sentence structures to inspire the activities. It also allows children to get creative in designing their own dragon eggs and dragons. The unit leads up to children writing their own version of the Dragon Snatcher, maybe a Unicorn Snatcher or Phoenix Snatcher?
