The word reliable has been used. Should constant variables be validity not reliability?
Not controlling variables leads to increased random error, which leads to data that cannot be relied upon to yield a valid conclusion. So, controlling variables leads to reliability. On the slide you are referring to, the word "meaningful" has been used as being equivalent to "valid". Data that is reliable must also have validity: it must be precise, as well as accurate.
