This is a game or experiment to show how wealth is accumulated into the hands of capitalists according to Marx.

It is based on a scene from “The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists” book.

The students have to create sandwiches using only the tools and materials supplied (Means of Production), they get paid in pennies. They have to buy back the food using their pennies and the surplus is kept by the capitalist (alienation). At the end the they have nothing (pauperisation) and the capitalist has a pile of sandwiches they have not had anything to do with creating (exploitation).

Included;
Instructions for the teacher including a list of items required.
Sheets for the students with tasks to complete.
Scene from the Ragged Trousered Philanthropists book as background for the teacher.
