The Highwayman. Bess' monologue support sheets.

This resource includes an example of a monologue from the character Bess in Alfred Noyes' poem The Highwayman. It can be studied as an example of what a monologue looks like, or alternatively it could be used as a basic one that requires improving. It also includes success criteria for writing a monologue; some possible sentence starters; and a word bank for of Bess' emotions. All of these can be edited or added to depending on the ability of the children.
