This unit simplifies the writing unit plan.

• Verb and adjective choices
• Adverbials
• Onomatopoeia
• Similes
• Metaphors

6 lessons for writing (+ 1 text structure including similes and metaphors and 1 for poetry performance)
4 lessons for an independent sequence.
1 OPTIONAL lesson for performing their own poetry

This gives teachers/schools the ability to add in additional lessons for grammar or structure or anything else a class needs to work on.

Included is a full set of slides to teach from and vocabulary gathering / scaffold sheets . The most important pages from the text are included on the slides (although having a full copy of the book would be better to enhance the unit).
