Presentation designed for potential use as a starter or a plenary activity in KS3 History. There is also the potential to be used as providing meaningful work for a “cover” lesson. Students are presented with a Historygram of a significant figure in world history, A “Historygram” is a short description of a figure using words whose initial letter is an anagram of the persons name. A simple example could be “ Roman Emperor Of Notoriety” (R E O N can be an Anagram of Nero). The “Historygrams” in the challenges are significantly longer.
The presentation was used with an above average ability history group and an interesting extension suggested by a student was that they prepare their own historygram on an historical figure of interest. The presentation contains 12 different challenges and 27 slides with embedded hyperlinks throughout.
