This resource is designed to support language and structural analysis and to support teachers encouraging a reading strategy for students.
It uses an extract from ‘The Lost Hearts’ by M R James (1895) and contains comprehension questions which can be used for discussion as teachers guide their students through the extract. Useful for KS3 and KS4 students when developing their approach to reading unseen texts.
It also contains a language analysis and a structural analysis question in the style of AQA English Language Paper 1 so can be used for a revision lesson or a timed task. These also have a success criteria attached and stem sentences to support writing and teacher modelling.
A worked example is also attached for language analysis to support teaching!
