This is a starter activity which asks students if they believe we have a soul - should lead into a healthy discussion. This starter could then link to a lesson on the Sanctity of Life for Christians.

I'm not sure how the image relates to the question - how is this a 'thunk?'

I'm not sure what 'Thunk' means. Is is a term you have invented or something of wider usage that I've missed out on learning? This is an important question.
The image used is interesting but not one I would associate with the soul. One great homework activity is to give a small framed space for pupils to draw or paint something that comes to mind when they think of the soul - or which symbolises their own inner understanding of who they really are, deep in the heart of their being, far beyond their physical appearance.
A follow up activity might be to share a range of writings about the soul from scripture, spiritual and secular poetry. Then we are giving our pupils rich ideas and information that they might never see elsewhere to deepen their own appreciation and understanding of who they really are, of what we mean by 'human beings.'
