The Trick Inside A Trick Candle
When an ordinary candle is blown out, there is always a burning ember left in the wick that causes the telltale smoke to rise from it. When the ember goes out, the smoke stops. Instead of allowing the ember to simply die out, trick candles use the ember to re-light. This is why trick candles only light by themselves after they have been blown out, not fresh from the box.
