This resource has been developed and used for a year 6 into year 7 induction week. It takes roughly 4 lessons but can be shorted or made longer easily by either skipping out tasks or spending more time on them. It encourages independence and collaboration whilst preparing students for the kind of skills that they will be developing in year 7.
The first lesson after discussing what history is and what they have studied looks at artifacts and how they can be used to find out about historical periods or individuals. It also provides opportunity for getting to know the students. This then links into the Titanic with lessons looking at what life was like, why the sinking is so famous and ultimately who/what was to blame.

A well put together resource. However not all the necessary parts are there for all the activities.
