Children can look for and trace O shapes on:
• Glasses
• Bicycle wheels
• A donut
• A plate
• A bottle cap
• An orange on the juice bottle
• A ring
The worksheet also includes glasses for the characters, giving children even more opportunities to spot and trace circular shapes.
A Great Consolidation Activity
The activity also supports fine-motor development, pencil control, visual discrimination and shape recognition, while the colouring element provides an opportunity for children to practice their creativity and concentration.
Extend the Learning
At the bottom of the worksheet, children are asked:
“How many letter o shapes can you see?”
They can count all the O shapes they have traced and write their answer in the box, providing a simple counting and number-writing extension.
You could also challenge children to look around the classroom or at home and find other objects that are shaped like O. You may be surprised by just how many they discover!
