These lessons were designed as an introduction to the Surgery unit for Edexcel but could easily be adapted for other exam boards. Students explore how surgery has changed using source images and consider how Blood, Infection and Pain could affect surgery. The lessons have relevant resources for both teacher and students and should explain themselves. There are links here to the documentary "Blood and Guts: A history of surgery" but these don't have to be used. You could also support these lessons with the blue and white Dawson textbook or the Edexcel endorsed brown textbook (2013) edition. Images have been acquired through a search engine filtered to "labelled for re-use" Comments are appreciated.
