UCAS Personal Statement Workbook (2027 Entry)

Description

The UCAS personal statement is now three questions, not one free-form essay. Statement Quest is a 30-page printable A4 workbook that takes you through the new format step by step, from gathering your experiences to a final polished draft.

The three questions it covers

Why do you want to study this course or subject?
How have your qualifications and studies helped you to prepare for this course or subject?
What else have you done to prepare outside of education, and why are these experiences useful?

What is inside:
How the new format works: one 4,000-character total including spaces, a 350-character minimum per answer, and one statement seen by all your choices.
A planner for splitting your 4,000 characters across the three answers.
An evidence bank and prompt cards for collecting experiences before you start writing.
“Show, do not tell” guidance and two short exercises with an answer key. In the first you pick the stronger sentence, and in the second you cut the clichés from a weak paragraph.
A guide and lined draft pages for each question.
Two fictional worked examples (Biomedical Science and History) with margin notes, and a weak-to-strong rewrite.
A polish checklist for your final proofread.
Choose your five courses: a comparison table for entry requirements, admissions tests and deadlines.
Your UCAS form in order: a checklist of what to have to hand, plus the fee for the 2027 cycle.
Information for my referee: a fill-in sheet to give the teacher writing your reference.
A year planner with the 2027-entry deadlines (15 October 2026 and 13 January 2027, 6pm UK time).

The example statements are fictional and are there to show structure, not to be copied. UCAS checks statements for similarity and says AI-written text presented as your own could be considered cheating.
