UKS2 Detailed word class posters / reminders with explanations & examples

A series of posters explaining word classes and showing examples aimed at UKS2 though some posters are appropriate for lower year groups.

I made these as other posters online didn’t have exactly what I wanted.

I have these on the wall and children regularly refer to them.

The posters consist of the following:

nouns, pronouns & noun phrases (including proper, common, abstract, concrete, collective and how to identify a noun)

verbs (including being verbs, tense, auxiliary verbs and how to identify a verb)

verbs: active and passive voice

adjectives (including comparative and superlative)

adverbs (including degree of intensity adverbs)

adverbials (time, reason, manner and place)

determiners (including avoiding confusion between determiners and pronouns)

prepositions

conjunctions (coordinating, subordinating and conjunctive adverbs)

interjections
