A free, offline browser game where nine linked tic-tac-toe boards form one big strategic battle — win three boards in a row to win it all.

Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe takes the game everyone knows and adds a genuine layer of strategy: the nine small grids are linked, so every move is also a decision about where you’re forcing your opponent to play next. It’s simple enough to explain in two minutes and deep enough to reward real forward planning — ideal for lesson starters, wet-play lunchtimes, chess club warm-ups, or a “finish your work, then you may play” reward activity.

Includes two ways to play:
• Two Player — pass the device between pupils, or play together on a shared screen or interactive whiteboard
• Vs Computer — a genuinely competitive built-in AI opponent (choose to play as X or O). It plays soundly and punishes careless moves, but it isn’t unbeatable — pupils who think a move or two ahead have a real chance of winning, making it a nice hook for teaching lookahead and consequences.

Also includes:
• A live mini-map showing the whole game’s state at a glance
• Undo, so pupils can take back a move while they’re learning the “send” rule
• A built-in Rules panel explaining the mechanic in plain language

Installation
Runs entirely in the browser as a single file — no installation, no accounts, no internet connection needed once it’s open. Nothing is ever uploaded anywhere, so it’s fully GDPR-safe for classroom use. Works on any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) on Windows, Mac, or Chromebook.
