This is a unit of work containing 6 lessons which help pupils understand how to write simple, compound and complex sentences with subordinate clauses. I planned these lessons for my Year 8 literacy class who have weak literacy skills, however these lessons could easily be used for any KS2 or KS3 class. Lessons are loosely based around the book 'Trash' by Andy Mulligan, but can very easily be changed to work for any book at all. All resources are included in the powerpoint and an additional worksheet provided too. Lessons include some differentiation for higher and lower ability pupils.
