This is an interesting and useful resource which decodes a standard university marking criteria for an assignment (or any piece of work). This resource would be suitable for prospective students considering applying to university (i.e. sixth form students or adult learners) as it gives them an idea of the standards and expectations of academic work at university level. It would also be relevant for any teachers/tutors supporting students applying to university to distribute as a handout to their learners. Finally, this resource would also be beneficial for any current university student to have as a point of reference of what they need to achieve to attain a certain grade.

The resource goes though each university grade/classification (first, 2.1 etc.) and clearly explains what is needed to achieve each grade in an accessible manner. Students can use this marking criteria to self-assess against their own work and determine what they need to do to achieve a higher grade.
