A starter/plenary to reinforce categoric, discrete and continuous variables. Instructions

I use these cards either as a class activity or in groups of varying number. With the class activity I line the pupils up in two lines and one pupil from each line compete to see who can recognize the correct type of each variable when I reveal the card. The winner goes to the back, the loser sits down and the winning team is the one with the last player remaining. It works equally well in any size of group with slight variations in the rules.

This is very useful when doing variables and helps to explain when to use line/scatter graphs or bar/column graphs,

I am really pushing understanding of variables with my year 7 classes this year, and this will be another useful activity to add to the repertoire at the start or end of the lesson. Many thanks.
