## Video: Rapid calculus - Rolle's Theorem

Video tutorial on how to use Rolle's theorem to find a point c in the interval where the function has a horizontal tangent line, in other words, where it has a critical point at which the function has a local maximum or minimum and where it changes direction from increasing to decreasing or vice versa.

Video Tutorial: Learn how to express the repeating decimal as a ratio of integers. You'll change the repeating part of the decimal into a geometric series, then find the sum of the geometric series and use it to find a ratio of integers (fraction of whole numbers) that expresses the repeating decimal.

#### Junior Math. Time Telling - Visuals and Activities

I originally produced this resource to help my own children learn to tell the time. It has since been used extensively to support teaching time telling to children aged between 5 and 10 years of age.

This Math resource provides clear visuals and activities to support children in the development of time telling skills. The aim is to encourage children to take a hands on approach and enjoy learning to tell the time.

Slides are provided in three different formats; full colour, black and white photocopiable and tinted dyslexia friendly.
#### Further Studies: Closure

Beginning with a quick refresher of the definition of closure, this advanced (extra credit?) worksheet asks students, "In which of these 20 examples of a set and an operation is the set closed under the operation?"

Examples include: "Composite numbers under multiplication?", "Even numbers under addition", "Square numbers under addition."

I hope it challenges most of if not all of your brightest students!
#### Trigonometer: Calculate sine (sin) and cosine (cos) with manipulatives!

Easy print-and-cut-out resources. Recommend that you use card-stock. See attached directions for a example problem that it can be used for. Cut out the triangles at the bottom of the page first!

This is a great resource for when you first introduce the unit circle and sign and cosine. By cutting out the triangles and placing them appropriately on the unit circle students can "see" the values trigonometric (trig) functions of common values such as 30 degrees, pi/4, etc. Students get very engaged using this tool, and really "internalize" rather than just "memorize" these important facts and concepts.
#### 'Class win or fail' revision game. Suitable for everything!!

Hi,

This is a creative and engaging game.

There are 15 timed questions - they are all linked to the main slide.

The purpose - if the class get 12 or more correct, they win the reward. If they get less than 12, they get the punishment!

Be careful - each questions has a countdown timer!

This is adaptable to any subject, for any age by simply over-typing the questions.

This is the easiest and most engaging way to have a revision quiz!!
