Great way to introduce personification as figurative language to children in KS2.
They use the example personification sentences to draw an image that shows what is being personified and how. eg The flowers were begging for water. They could draw a vase of wilted flowers with their leaves clasped together in a begging position with a speech bubble coming out saying ‘please water us.’ ‘We’re so thirsty!’
A visual example is given to the children.
From this, personification could be identified in pictures and in books.
