This step-by-step guide helps students learn 25 new vocabulary words. Students will begin by selecting 25 unfamiliar words and placing them on a bingo card. They will use their resources (dictionary, textbooks, etc.) to learn these words. Next, they will fill out a form for each new word. These forms include the word, pronunciation, definition, part of speech, synonyms and antonyms (if any), and the word used in a sentence. After they fill out the form, have them mark the bingo space on their card with that word. Students will keep all word forms and the bingo sheet together to form a portfolio they turn in. When you hand these completed portfolios back, encourage students to keep them as a personal glossary of newly learned words.
