A short story setting for a mystery. The text includes the types of sentences that would be appropriate for Y5 / HA Y4. Pupils can use it to text mark and find the features of a good mystery story setting/ pull apart the authors choices . The second task is a series of sentence strips which would al be found in a good mystery setting. Pupils can be given these in an envelope and work in pairs to find the five they think are the most effective.
