This gives a nice introduction to the idea that animals and plants have preferred habitats. I use it mostly to get the pupils to tell us what they know, and it doesn’t matter if any of their ideas are incorrect, as long you build on this. Alternatively, you might want to use it as a recording tool for them to research on the internet or with books. It would perhaps best suit primary or SEN students, though the open ended nature and the extension task that encourages them to produce their own ideas of organisms and their habitats has potential value for more advanced pupils.
