10+ hours of planning- 10 lessons -GCSE Questions included

My Dear Reader,

This is a 5-lesson unit of work on Whitechapel’s life, people, and police (1880–1891). It aims to have students match general knowledge and original sources while developing their writing ability to answer GCSE-style exam questions. All lessons follow the same model structure to ensure coherent teaching and clear progression, with clear learning objectives that help students always understand where they are in their learning:

Main activities: three tasks based on increasing levels of difficulty, including challenges. The third task is always a written task aligned with the GCSE writing framework. The first two tasks are group or class-assessed, while the third is individual, allowing you to circulate and provide personalised support.

An extension task is always included to ignite debate and further assess understanding.

Homework, reading resources, and task templates are included at the end of each slideshow.

This unit is ideal for a Year 10 class and is already set as a ready-to-teach slideshow presentation.
