This resource contains:

  • an Excel sheet allowing you to quickly generate ‘battleship cards’ to play whole class battleships
  • instructions

Whole class battleships (as described by Alistair Pearson on the Global Innovative Language Teachers FB group)
• Everyone has a grid with a chunk in each square.
• Each individual picks 5 squares on their own grid as their “ships”.
• Students take turns to read out chunks.
• If their square is read out, that’s a hit/sink.
• The students with fewest sunk ships at the end of x minutes win.
