This lesson celebrates Chatham’s Afro-Caribbean Chartist leader, William Cuffay, and is an excellent way to add diversity to your study of the British Industrial Revolution. It also provides a crucial element for exploring political change and the Chartist movement in Britain.
Activities included:
Card puzzle activity
Storyboard activity
Plenary tasks
Stretch activities are provided throughout, including a differentiated worksheet with activities for higher and lower abilities. An example lesson plan is included to help explain the lesson structure and to serve as a template for your own planning.
This lesson works perfectly as an additional session within an Industrial Revolution scheme of work or as a standalone lesson on political change and Black British history.
