“The Racing Car STEM Project is a hands‑on engineering and science challenge where students design and build a model racing car powered by a balloon or elastic band. The goal is for the car to travel a distance of three metres while carrying at least ten grams of mass.
Students begin by exploring how the car works, learning about friction, weight, aerodynamics, and energy transfers. They research how releasing air from a balloon creates thrust and how wheel alignment and body shape affect speed and stability.
