A poem about an old object.
Ask students to search online and find an old, interesting looking or unusual antique. They then can experiment with writing a poem about the object in the form of rhyming couplets. The idea is to try to use the object in the poem to link, in an interesting way, the past with the present. An example is shown to fire the imagination.
