Writing about a reminiscence
Ask students to take part in a homework project where they interview an elderly person (family member, neighbour, someone they know well?) – obviously with the full agreement of their parents or guardians. The idea is for the elderly person to remember a specific memory about something that is no longer in use. The student can take detailed notes and then write out the experience in first person. See example below.
