This unit aims to continue building students understanding of the elements and in particular how they support a story. This unit links nicely with ‘Music and Art’ (see year 7 resources) and ‘Film Music’ (see other Y8 resources). Students learn about programmatic music, perform an ensemble piece of music to tell the story of the LOTR (using themes from the film) and compose several short pieces to convey a story.
