Year 1 Reading Comprehension - World Teachers' Day

Celebrate the people who help us learn every day!

This World Teachers’ Day reading comprehension pack includes three clearly differentiated texts (Starter, Standard, Stretch). Each level supports progression in reading skills, beginning with simple retrieval in the Starter, moving into vocabulary and inference in the Standard, and building towards cause/effect and author’s intent in the Stretch.

Across all levels, children learn that teachers help them to learn, work in schools, and use books, pens, and boards as tools. They also discover that World Teachers’ Day is celebrated on the 5th of October each year, when children, families, and communities say thank you to teachers.
