This resource contains 3 comprehension activities suitable for using with your year 1 class.
You can use the comprehensions to teach the children all about spring. There are three topics covered:
- What can I do in the spring?
- What happens in the spring?
- Spring animals
There are 3 differentiated levels.
Higher Ability
The higher ability booklet contains a title page with three helpful words followed by three pages of pictures with short written extracts to read and 5 questions per page.
Middle Ability and Lower Ability
The middle ability and lower ability booklets each contain three short pieces of text with words that can be sounded out. Each page has trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say. Each passage is followed by 5 simple questions.
There is a colour and black & white version of each level.
There is also a PowerPoint presentation included in the pack containing a slide for each text from the middle ability booklet so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them. Each slide also contains 3 words that are trickier to sound out, with sound buttons underneath them. This is not editable.
Answers are also included.
PDF file format.
No further preparation needed.
These comprehensions are included in our:
